"New York" 3D DANCE VIDEO
FEATURING MILLIE FIELDING
CHOREOGRAPHY BY LAURA BAUGH
The world’s first dance video to utilise the ‘pulfrich effect’.
Holding up sunglasses to the LEFT EYE has the effect of ‘slowing down’ the light reaching that eye.
Maintaining a continuous movement of the background, left to right, in relation to the subject, creates a 3D effect, since the brain is able to process the foreground subject prior to processing the background.
It works for around 90% of viewers, but generally doesn’t work for people with underlying eye difficulties and astigmatisms etc. This effect has the advantage over other types of 3D effects as it is the only current 3D technique where the video is viewable simultaneously in either 3D or 2D.
We filmed (according to covid secure guidelines) over the course of around 2 hours on what turned out to be the hottest day of the year!
Check out some behind the scenes footage.
